Path of Exile 2 PoE 2 Verisium Removal Bug Using Shift+Ctrl+Click

If you are currently grinding through Path of Exile 2, you might want to pause for a second before you do your next round of vendor trading. Players have discovered a brutal, progress-wiping bug involving Liquid Verisium, and Grinding Gear Games (GGG) has officially stepped in to warn everyone.

Here is what you need to know to keep your hard-earned resources safe.

The Bug: How Shift+Ctrl+Click Deletes Your Progression

When you are heading to a vendor to grab Liquid Verisium, your muscle memory probably tells you to use the standard shortcuts to buy things quickly. Do not use the Shift+Ctrl+Left Click shortcut.

Right now, attempting to bulk-buy Liquid Verisium using that specific key combination triggers a massive glitch. Instead of cleanly purchasing a stack, the game instantly deletes your entire stack of raw Verisium. Players have reported losing anywhere from 10,000 to upwards of 55,000+ Verisium in a single second. To make matters worse, the vendor usually only gives you a single unit of Liquid Verisium in return—and in some cases, you get absolutely nothing back.

The Safe Method to Buy Liquid Verisium

Until GGG deploys a patch to fix this, you have to be intentional with your clicks. You can still buy your materials, but you need to use one of these safe workarounds:

  • The Single-Click Method: Click the item manually, one by one. It is slower, but it is 100% safe.

  • The Regular Ctrl+Click Method: You can use regular Ctrl+Left Click to move things efficiently, just make absolutely sure you are not holding down the Shift key at the same time to prevent the bulk-buy wipe.

GGG’s Official Stance and Support

Grinding Gear Games has confirmed via the official Path of Exile X (Twitter) account that they are aware of the issue. The team is actively investigating the bug and is currently working on a hotfix to get it sorted out.

If you have already fallen victim to this bug, there is some unfortunate news regarding recovery. Historically, GGG maintains a strict “no item or currency restoration” policy for losses caused by bugs during Early Access, meaning you likely won’t get your raw Verisium back.

However, you can still help speed up the process. Head over to the Path of Exile Bug Reports Forum and add your experience to the tracking threads. Giving the developers more data helps them pin down exactly what went wrong so they can deploy the fix as fast as possible.
